Year 1 French

Year 1 have been learning the months of the year in French. They've made such good progress that Madame Croall set them a challenge of putting them all into correct order in under three minutes. Un, deux, trois, partez!

Inter-house Cross Country Competition

Pupils enjoyed the Inter-house Cross Country Competition this morning, with some exceptional running in all year groups. St Ives is renowned for its killer hill so it's always a tough run! Well done everyone. We look forward to the day when we can re-start inviting the other local schools in to compete.

Reception's Puppet Shows

Reception have had great fun putting on their own puppet shows. The children loved watching each other's performances and were so good at waiting patiently until it was their turn. A wonderful afternoon!

MacMillan Coffee Morning

It's #macmillancoffeemorning here at St Ives. We challenged the children to bake a cupcake to bring into school and enter our cupcake competition. Winners will be announced later but it's safe to say there were a lot of mucky faces at breaktime!

Wellbeing Club

Pastoral care is so important to us. Our Wellbeing Club allows pupils to relax & focus on their emotional wellbeing. After an introduction to yoga, pupils have started work on their "I've got this!" posters, which are designed to boost resilience & self esteem.

Sports for Schools Visit

Pupils have enjoyed a very inspiring morning thanks to Darren Challis and Sports for Schools. Darren ran a fun fitness circuit for all the children and motivated them to 'Dream it, believe it, achieve it!'

Forest School

In Forest School this week, Pre-prep helped collect firewood for Autumn, completed some simple forest-care tasks & had a well-earned play on the pirate ship & rope swing.

Nursery News

Our Nursery children have had a 'beary' good week. Using the story 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' they've explored mud & had to describe how it looks & feels, they've ordered teddies into size order and even been on a bear hunt in our forest. They've had such fun!
