Rachel Greatbatch - Forest School Leader
Rachel attended the University of St Andrews where she studied English Literature, Modern History, Classics and Latin before finally choosing to read English Literature. This degree choice was due to a lifelong love of learning, in particular reading, which Rachel is passionate about passing on to all the children she teaches. After a brief career in banking, Rachel pursued her dream and began a PGCE at the University of Leeds, specialising in the 5-7 age range. Rachel has been at St Ives for 7 years and has taught Reception and Year 1, as well as heading up the English department. Rachel has also had a year on maternity leave during which she gave birth to her son, Teddy, who is now in our Nursery. This has given Rachel the time to come back as our Forest School Leader, a role she loves! Rachel is currently studying for her Level 3 Forest School qualification.
