We have always had strong connections with the local community of the school and are well aware of our responsibilities to the community that we are proud to be a part of. As a school we also recognise our responsibility to teach our pupils about community and what it means to them as individuals. We feel it is important for St Ives children to be aware of the wider community in which they live, to appreciate the good fortune of their own circumstances and to be motivated to help others.
The school is delighted to offer support to a range of local groups, such as several residential homes for the elderly through concerts, recitals and regular visits, as well as larger national charities such as Macmillan Nurses, the NSPCC and Dr Barnado’s.
Our nursery and pre-prep departments also enjoy regular visits from important community members, such as the local nurse, police and fire service and even have fun making pizzas during a visit to Pizza Express in Midhurst!
