Music
We are lucky to have the opportunity to see the progression in music making from Nursery to Year 6 and offer a dedicated specialist music teacher. Our all inclusive approach offers opportunities for the development of skills, appreciation and participation in music. Three choirs, an orchestra, ensembles and individual instrumental and singing lessons greatly enrich the music curriculum. We are fortunate in having a large team of peripatetic teachers offering tuition in a wide range of instruments.
Performance is key in music and girls of all ages have many opportunities to perform and showcase their skills throughout the year in class, in assemblies, and in larger events open to parents and visitors such as Harvest and Christmas, instrumental concerts, prize giving and in local choral competitions with other schools.
Sharing our music has also enabled us to become involved with our local community through the concerts and workshops we perform.
Music scholarships are often awarded by senior schools to St Ives girls.
