At St Ives our aim is always to do the best for all of our pupils.
It is this innate guiding principle that has led us to develop our current co-educational model that welcomes boys from Nursery to Year 2, guiding their early educational development and preparing them as fully as possible for Preparatory school entrance exams and the rigours that await them there.
In the first few years of education, we realise that it is important that we support our pupils in developing their social and interactive skills with both sexes, helping them to establish themselves, build friendships and learn to relate to the people around them regardless of gender. However, from Year 3, we know that girls learn and perform better in a single sex environment, which is why we only offer single sex education in our upper school.
This model of education allows us to offer the very best educational and developmental programme for all our pupils at each stage of their school career with us.
