St Ives pupils are going places...

My daughter knows the teachers in the school and they know her, it is friendly, warm and really knows it's stuff when it comes to child development.

Really nice nurturing environment, in lovely setting. Most important is how much my daughter loves it there - so much so she often doesn't want to come home!

My son, like all boys needs to get outside and be physical and the outdoor space at St Ives is an adventure park with lots of space to run and wonderful views, for him to run around in.

About Us

At St Ives, we are justifiably proud of the way our pupils thrive in the nurturing, encouraging atmosphere of our school. We firmly believe that it is this inspiring and reassuring environment that gives children the confidence open themselves to learning, take the risk of making mistakes and learn more fully as a result.

At the core of our ethos is the precept that individuality is cherished and celebrated. Our dedicated and perceptive teaching team ensures that each pupil is appropriately challenged and progressed at a pace that is right for them. There is no real secret to our success, we know that the combination of small class sizes, dedicated staff and outstanding pastoral care is key to giving our children the stable and safe platform they need from which to grow.

Our varied curriculum allows plenty of opportunity to discover and develop each pupil’s ability and talents in Sport, Art, Music, Drama, Languages and Technology as well as reaching their full academic potential. We are privileged to have wonderful grounds and offer Forest School as part of our curriculum.

As a preparatory school, we prepare our children for their prep and senior school education. Our teachers come to know each pupil very well, enabling them to develop a clear picture of which school would be the best onward step for them in terms of academics, extracurricular teaching and ethos. We are proud of our outstanding record of guiding our pupils into their first-choice entry of next step school and of the many scholarships awarded annually to St Ives pupils.

Choosing the right education for your child is an important task and one with a wide variety of elements to take into consideration. I hope we have been able to give you a flavour St Ives and answer some of your questions. After a visit to our school you will soon discover why ‘St Ives Pupils are going places’!
