THE SEVEN SIDED DICE
LADY FORTUNE
I
Once again it has been an incredibly busy week, as all end of terms are! We were delighted to welcome a huge number of people for the two nights of the production of 'The Seven Sided Dice'. The theme of this musical play was four children who accidentally end up lost in Gameland where they have to win games against the wicked Lady Fortune to make their escape. Watching them battle their way through Cluedo, Monopoly and Chess were some of the highlights of the play. As usual the performances were so polished and professional that it was difficult to imagine that 10-11 year olds were capable of so much.
MIDSUMMER BALL
Some 180 parents and friends gathered on Saturday 11th for a Midsummer Ball. The event was organised by the Friends of St Ives, and was a joint fundraiser for the school towards an extended play area and the Make a Wish foundation which provides magical experiences for terminally ill children. Final totals are not available yet but parents were incredibly generous as usual and we are confident that it will be a substantial amount. The guests enjoyed a superb feast provided by Pesto caterers and danced the night away to Sahara. Everyone has commented on the wonderful atmosphere and I am sure it will be an event that will be repeated in the not to distant future.
